Things about yourself, others and at the world around us.
BLIK is the place for art and culture in the heart of Nijmegen-West. Here, you can discover up-and-coming talent on stage, watch thought-provoking theatre productions, hang out in Café PUNT and wander past galleries showcasing contemporary art. With a growing cultural programme, BLIK brings together creators, audiences and various disciplines.
BLIK provides a platform for art and culture and has developed into an independent and future-proof organisation. We bring together entrepreneurs, creators, the public and partners, and encourage them to push boundaries, ask questions, experiment and play. It is precisely at the intersection of disciplines that new ideas emerge. That is why we create opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaborations and events that bring people and worlds together. In this way, we are working together to build an inspiring space where creativity is fostered and new initiatives can emerge.
BLIK has its roots in the Honig site: a former factory complex with a raw, industrial character and the iconic Honig Tower. After nearly a century of production, the site closed its doors in 2012. It was given a new lease of life as a cultural haven, where creative makers and entrepreneurs found their place. When the Honig’s future came under threat, BLIK chose to preserve and develop parts of this industrial heritage. In this way, not only is a special part of Nijmegen preserved, but also a place where there is always something new to discover. The pioneering spirit of that time forms the basis for what BLIK does today: creating space for art and culture.
